My name is Ricki Wood and I am 26 years old. I currently reside in Northern Virginia, but sometimes I'll say DC because it's the easier thing to do than explain my close proximity to the city. My photography's main focus is concert photography, but I have experience in other things such as portraits, sports, etc.  My photography started as a hobby and later developed into my actual work. I started out by buying myself a DSLR for my own Christmas gift and I just wanted to learn how to use it. I didn't aim to take photos for anyone else. I just wanted to take them for me to have visuals to go along with my life story of places I have been and things I have experienced. I brought my camera with me everywhere I went.
As my skills grew, my friends asked for my help with pictures for events, such as graduations, Christmas card photos, basic head shots, etc, which later made me more comfortable shooting portraits and having a person as a subject in my photos.
During my time in college, I was employed with Entercom Communications working for 7 different radio stations in Richmond, Virginia. During my time with Entercom I photographed many different events such as panels, concerts, acoustic sessions, festivals, and meet & greets.
Photography is a passion of mine, and I love the duality being that photography can reflect other individuals passions as well. I am to capture a story of a moment of time in your life and your journey. I hope to bring you photos that capture who you are and what you love!
